COMMUNITY MEDIATOR
A Conflict Resolution Service at Dixie-Bloor Neighbourhood Centre is accepting applications for a Volunteer Community Mediator.
Working in two-person teams, volunteer mediators provide free and confidential services to Mississauga residents.

If you have:

    A keen interest in helping others solve their conflicts, problems, and misunderstandings peacefully
    Above average English communication skills
    Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
    Dependability, time availability and flexibility
    A desire to learn and grow

Safe City Mississauga’s Aspire program is looking for high school students interested in tutoring elementary school students. With a time commitment of only one to two hours per week, tutors have the opportunity to earn community service hours, get valuable job experience, and make a real difference in the life of a student and community.

ASPIRE PROGRAM: SEEKING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
Aspire is looking for high school students interested in volunteering as peer tutors.
Safe City Mississauga’s Aspire program delivers no-cost peer tutoring to students in grades K-6 in priority Mississauga neighbourhoods.
Each student is paired with a peer tutor, who meets with the student once a week to work on a subject area with which they need assistance.
The time commitment is one to two hours a week.
Tutoring positions are available at three centres across Mississauga. Hours are Monday-Friday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Art Therapy Volunteer Position

Interested in Art Therapy as a possible career? Or are you an art therapy student looking for volunteer opportunities? Art as Therapy offers training and opportunities to shadow an Art Therapist. Volunteer opportunities are also available for art students who would like to teach seniors basic art skills. Days and hours are flexible. Opportunities are available in Brampton and Orangeville. Art Therapy Internship Opportunity

Art as Therapy has exciting internship opportunities available. Two placement spots are currently available in a long-term care facility working with adults and seniors, some with complex needs. Hours and days are flexible, so students can collect as many hours as needed. An internship is also available in Orangeville, providing individual and group art therapy to children and teens presenting a range of concerns with a focus on autism. Onsite supervision with a registered Art Therapist will be provided as well as all necessary art supplies and space.
