Storage and Assembly Space Required
for Peel Aboriginal Resource Kits
The Region of Peel, Early Learning Services in partnership with the Peel Aboriginal Steering Committee, has developed Aboriginal Resource Kits for all Early Learning and Child Care settings in Peel.
The kits will educate children 0-6, practitioners and caregivers on culture, history, values, traditions and customs of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis people.
The kits include books, CD’s, tactile materials, puppets, games and toys as well as a Handbook that will provide guidance on how to use the kit.
This year we have purchased enough resources to fill 226 containers – this order will be duplicated in October/November. The volume of the kits content is significant, as we found out with the first round of kits this takes a large amount of space to organize and pack each container. Our partners the Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board and the Peel District School Board have both provided temporary space while we distribute the first round of kits.
We are looking for a space to accommodate the second round of kits for approximately one year.
We are looking for:
•climate control
•flexible hours of accessibility
•easy access for delivery
•safe in regards to security
•Minimum space 20 x 20 feet
•low cost/no cost – we have a limited budget
Thank-you in advance for your support.
